Getting to see your own

GP on the day:

When calling first thing in the morning to book an ‘on the day’ appointment, we will try to get your GP to call you back before making the appointment – it may be that you only need a prescription, or further tests prior to coming in to see him/her.  Don’t worry, if your GP feels you need to come in, then they will book you in.  If your GP is not available that day, one of our other doctors, or a nurse will call you back.  This is known as GP Triage, which is a Health Care Home initiative that has been proved to ensure those patients that need to be seen on the day, are seen on the day, preferably by their own GP. It’s proven that about 40% of patients calling for an ‘on the day appointment’ can be helped by GP Triage, without even coming into the practice.  This leaves valuable appointment time for those patients who may be extremely unwell.  Note that there may be a small charge if you do not need to come in.
